Use an auto-filled template or upload your own lease.
Add your specific lease details and/or addendums.
Collect signatures electronically from everyone required.
We send reminders so everything gets done before move-in day.
We provide carefully crafted and legally binding lease templates for you to use, included in your premium plan.
These templates are customized for each state and our legal team has confirmed that all state and national laws are being complied with in our lease templates. So you can rest easy!
Plus, we will automatically fill in the lease template with your applicant and property information, and you’ll be set to send your lease in a few clicks!
Yes! You can upload your own lease during the lease setup process, and easily highlight any area where you need a signature, initials, or other content to be filled in by your tenant(s). Watch our video to see how easy it is!
No problem! You can add multiple addendums to your lease package by uploading your own, or selecting from our list of recommended documents, and use our tool to easily highlight anywhere that your tenant needs to sign or provide additional information.
Additionally, all of Affordable Housing’s recommended documents are available for download within your Owner Dashboard.
What if I have other requirements for my tenant? Such as proof of income or a background check?
Our Lease Management system makes it easy to keep track of everything in one place. When you select an applicant you’d like to initiate a lease with, you can request they upload documents within their application form, such as a drivers license, or proof of income.
Currently, we do not facilitate any background or credit check processes on our platform, but you can set up the specifications around these checks within your property listing and when setting up your lease.
Sending leases is currently included in our premium and enterprise membership plans. How many leases you can send depends on your plan.
Free plan members currently cannot send leases. Compare plans.
In order to send a lease to someone, they must first apply to your property listing. This way we have their information and your listing data to automatically populate the lease and connect everything in one place.
If the person you’d like to rent to is not in your applicants list, you can Invite them to apply from the Applicants page after signing into your account.
No problem! You can include the names and emails for everyone that needs to sign your lease (co-signers, co-owners, guarantors, etc.) and they will receive an email requesting their signature.
They will not need to create any accounts to review and eSign the documents within the lease package. (Only the primary tenant will need an account on AffordableHousing.com).
Your tenant and all required lease signers will be notified by email that they have a lease to sign. You can view the Leasing Overview page at any time, within Lease Management, to see the steps that are remaining.
We will also send reminders by email and text message to make sure everything gets completed on time.
You can still use our lease management system to get your lease and other documents completed and signed by your tenant. However, you will still need to work with your local housing authority to complete additional steps required by the government before you can begin renting to a voucher holder.
Will my lease be in line with national and local rental laws?
When you use AffordableHousing.com’s lease templates, you can rest assured that they are in compliance with state and national housing laws. AHN, its Sites, Services, and its resources, information, forms or templates are not substitutes for the advice or services of an attorney. We are not a lawyer referral service.
Additionally, if you use your own lease, AffordableHousing.com does not take responsibility for the legal validity of your lease content.
